Stop the Bleed Workshop Series

In light of recent violent attacks against protestors, and in preparation for a potentially turbulent summer leading up election season, we are reviving our Stop the Bleed training series in March 2022.The number one cause of preventable death after injury is blood loss. This spring, Rosehip Medic Collective and Portland Action Medics are teaming up to take on the task of training 150 local activists at a series of Bleeding Control Workshops. With that many more community members trained in how to control life-threatening bleeding, our community will be better able to take care of each other in the event of further violent escalation against protestors, in particular gun violence and mass shootings.

Each workshop will cover causes and identification of life-threatening bleeding, including gunshot wounds, and how to effectively stop these bleeds depending on location. Extensive practice times on props will help participants develop the muscle memory to respond to a bleeding emergency if needed. In addition to these skills and knowledge, participants of the workshop will leave with a Bleeding Control Kit or IFAK valued at around $60, which will further empower them to act and save lives.

PAM and Rosehip are currently seeking COVID safe training spaces, and will announce dates and how to register soon. Check back for updates. We are not taking registration by email at this time. These trainings will be free, but we welcome donations for Bleeding Control Kits on our Donate Page
