As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve been working hard this past year to
form Faultline Ensemble, a new group of theater artists and healthcare
workers in Portland, and to write an original play. We hope you will
join us for the performances of Holding onto the Sky, a new play about
community and disaster in Portland. This show is made possible by the
blood, sweat, tears and generous support of a huge team of collaborators
and community partners, and we’re so excited to share it with you.
Performances will be at the Headwaters Theatre, 55 NE Farragut St., at
8pm, November 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st and 22nd. Tickets are a $10
suggested donation, with no one turned away for lack of funds. Buy at
the door or reserve by emailing FaultlineEnsemble@gmail.com or calling
(650) 814-5519.
Holding onto the Sky is the first original work by Faultline, a new
ensemble of experimental performers and healthcare workers co-sponsored
by the Rosehip Medic Collective. The play is set during a fictional
post-disaster Portland, and explores the way damaged communities survive
without infrastructure. As neighbors turn to one another for support,
stories are shared that question the nature of disaster response, the
accessibility of our healthcare system, and our own abilities to care
for one another in the face of crisis.
Holding onto the Sky is created in partnership with the Rosehip Medic
Collective, and funded in part by a grant from the Regional Arts and
Culture Council. We very much hope you will join us, and spread the
word!
